From AUGUST 18, 2025, visit INEC’s portal to fill in your details and book an appointment.

What if I don’t want to vote, should I still register?

Yes. Registering gives you the power to decide when you're ready. It also serves as ID in many cases.

Even if you’re skeptical, registering ensures your voice can’t be manipulated by others. Silence gives them power.

Who is eligible to register?

Any Nigerian citizen who is 18 years or older by election day and hasn’t registered before.

What do I need to register?

You need a valid form of ID like NIN, driver’s license, international passport, or birth certificate.

Can I register completely online?

No. You can start online but must complete biometrics (fingerprint/photo) at an INEC centre.

Where can I register offline?

At any INEC LGA office or designated registration centre near you.

What if I’ve lost my old voter’s card?

You can request a reprint at the INEC office. You don’t need to register again.

Do I need money to register?

No. Voter registration is completely free. Do not pay anyone claiming otherwise.

Can I register twice to be sure?

No. Double registration is illegal and can result in disqualification or prosecution.

What if I live in Lagos but want to vote in my hometown?

You can transfer your voter record to any location where you intend to vote. Visit the INEC office to request a transfer.
